The Board of the Gombe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (GoHealth) has convened its 16th meeting, the first for the year 2026, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery and expanding insurance coverage across the state.
In a statement issued by the Agency’s Public Relations Officer, Dairus Samson, the meeting—chaired by Dr. Muhammad Isa Umar—provided an opportunity to review recent achievements and set priorities for the year ahead.
The Board commended the Agency’s Team Lead and Executive Secretary, Dr. Abubakar Musa, for his strategic leadership and dedication, which it said have elevated GoHealth’s profile on the global stage.
According to the Board, this recognition reflects deliberate reforms, improved institutional capacity, and a sustained focus on delivering people-centred health insurance services.
The commendation followed a comprehensive presentation outlining key milestones, including intensified media sensitisation campaigns, accelerated enrolment of beneficiaries under the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF), and the prompt distribution of enrolment cards.
Board members noted that these efforts have significantly enhanced access to affordable healthcare and strengthened public confidence in the scheme.
Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman urged the Agency to sustain the momentum by scaling up enrolment, particularly within the informal sector.

He stressed that expanding coverage remains critical to achieving universal health coverage, especially amid rising and unpredictable medical costs nationwide.
He added that broader inclusion would help protect vulnerable populations while ensuring equitable access to quality healthcare services.
The meeting concluded with a renewed pledge of support for the Agency’s strategic direction and a collective resolve to consolidate gains as GoHealth advances its mandate in 2026 and beyond.
