The Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced that the written examination for applicants seeking recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) as constables will hold from April 28 to April 30, 2026.
The examination, which covers both General Duty and Specialist applicants, will take place at designated centres across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the PSC said only candidates who successfully passed the earlier physical and credentials screening would be eligible to participate in the exercise.
According to the Commission, qualified applicants are expected to log on to the official recruitment portal — — from Friday, April 24, 2026, to print their Examination Invitation Cards, which will contain details of their specific examination date, time, and venue.
“The Police Service Commission, in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, has fixed 28–30 April 2026 for the written examination for applicants seeking enlistment as Police Constables,” the statement read.
The Commission outlined mandatory requirements for candidates on the day of the examination, including a pen, a National Identification Number (NIN) slip with a clear photograph, and a printed Examination Invitation Card.
It also specified a strict dress code for candidates.
“Applicants are to appear in white shorts, white T-shirt, and white canvas,” the PSC stated.
While reiterating its commitment to a transparent recruitment process, the Commission warned applicants to be wary of fraudsters and individuals demanding money in exchange for assistance.
“The recruitment process is entirely free. Any form of job racketeering, scams, or financial inducement will be met with the full force of the law,” the Commission warned.
The statement was signed by the Head of Protocol and Public Affairs of the PSC, Mr. Torty Njoku Kalu, on April 23, 2026, in Abuja.
