Speaking during the commissioning of a newly constructed church in Jesu community, the lawmaker anchored his message on Proverbs 31:9, urging leaders to defend the vulnerable and govern with justice.

The lawmaker had on Friday inaugurated ultra-modern mosque in Buwangal for Muslim constituents.

“Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy,” he quoted.

Ali Isa stressed that leadership must prioritise unity and cooperation, noting that such ideals informed his decision to undertake the construction of the worship centre.

He said, “Leaders have a responsibility to prioritise actions that foster unity and peaceful coexistence among the people, regardless of religious or ethnic differences.”

The lawmaker urged members of the community to live harmoniously, adding that development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace.

Highlighting his broader efforts, he noted that beyond building churches and mosques, he has implemented several human development projects across the constituency.

“I remain committed to delivering on the mandate given to me by the people of Billiri/Balanga. This worship centre should also serve as a place to pray for peace and God’s guidance for leaders,” he added.

He further assured constituents of his openness to ideas that would enhance development in the area and Gombe State at large.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the area, Rev. Joseph Alphonsus, commended the lawmaker for the gesture, describing it as a step towards strengthening unity.

Also speaking on behalf of the Muslim community, Salisu Lumbo praised Ali Isa’s inclusive leadership style.

“Ali Isa is a leader worth emulating. His fairness and commitment to all, irrespective of faith, is commendable,” he said.

Similarly, the Ndugura of Cham, His Royal Highness James Chacis, called on residents to embrace patience, forgiveness and unity as pillars for sustainable development.

The monarch said, “Peace, patience, and forgiveness are essential virtues for any community that desires lasting progress.”

The highlight of the event was the conferment of traditional titles on the lawmaker by the communities of Mona, Jessu and Nyuwar, in recognition of his contributions to development.

The commissioning ceremony attracted traditional, religious and political leaders from across the constituency.
