The Divisional Officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Kaltungo Local Government Area of Gombe State, Chief Superintendent of Corps Adah S. Mogomya, has been honoured with an Award of Excellence for her dedication to community service and professionalism.

The award was presented by the Courageous Women of Gombe State during an event held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Stadium in Kaltungo on Friday.

The programme, which featured a Million Man March and paper presentations, celebrated women considered to have made significant contributions to the development of Tangale and Waja communities.


Speaking during the ceremony, organisers described Mogomya as a committed officer whose leadership and relationship with residents had strengthened community trust in the NSCDC.
“She has consistently demonstrated kindness, professionalism and impactful service delivery in Kaltungo,” one of the organisers stated. “Her commitment to protecting lives and maintaining cordial relations with the community makes her deserving of this recognition.”
The event attracted several dignitaries, including the Overseer of Kaltungo LGA, Aaron Lapte Andrew; the Mai Kaltungo, Engr. Saleh Muhammadu; Chairman of the occasion, Usman Bawa Kaltungo; representatives of the Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Dr Manassah Daniel Jatau; and the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Njodi.
Also in attendance were Hajia Bibiye Sadiq, former chairmen of Kaltungo and Balanga LGAs, as well as notable sons and daughters of Kaltungo, Billiri, Shongom and Balanga local government areas.
Reacting to the award, the Gombe State Command of the NSCDC commended Mogomya for bringing honour to the Corps through exemplary service.
In a statement signed by the Command Public Relations Officer, CSC Buhari Saad, the Command noted that the recognition reflected the agency’s growing impact at the grassroots level.
“The award underscores the Corps’ mandate of safeguarding lives and property while fostering positive community relations,” the statement read.
The Command further reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism and effective service delivery across all divisions in the state.
