A renowned philanthropist and governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State, Chief David Sabo Kente, has vowed to respect the principle of zoning among the three geopolitical zones and step aside after four years if elected governor in 2027.
Chief Kente stated this on Friday in Jalingo while addressing journalists, saying his ambition is aimed at rescuing the state from poor governance.
The aspirant stressed that the principles of equity and power rotation among the three geopolitical zones must be respected in 2031 in the interest of justice.
“I will step aside after four years if elected governor in 2027,” he assured.
“For the interest of justice, I will hand over power to either the North or Central zone after four years. My ambition is not for money-making; I am running to rescue Taraba from collapse.
“My decision to serve a single term is in line with the principle of rotation and power shift among the three geopolitical zones in the state,” he insisted.
The governorship aspirant lamented the deplorable condition of infrastructure, including roads across Taraba State, and promised reforms.
“The deplorable condition of infrastructure, including roads, requires urgent attention. If elected governor, I will fix them to acceptable standards. My rescue mission will attract both human and infrastructural development and ensure that Taraba is placed on the global map of development in all sectors,” Chief Kente stated.
He also urged Tarabans to support the re-election of President Bola Tinubu for more development.
