The South-East Zonal inauguration of the ADC Grassroots Mobilisation for Change (AGMC) has recorded what organisers described as a resounding success, with members, stakeholders and supporters reaffirming their commitment to strengthening grassroots participation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The inauguration, held on June 13, 2026, brought together newly inaugurated executives and members from across the South-East geopolitical zone under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Speaking after the ceremony, the National Leader of AGMC, Amb. Dr. Odion Cedrack Okpebholo, commended members for their dedication, sacrifice and unwavering commitment to the ideals of the organisation.
He said the impressive turnout and enthusiasm displayed during the event reflected Nigerians’ growing desire for positive change and their readiness to participate actively in the country’s democratic process.
“The success of this inauguration is a testament to the passion, resilience and commitment of our members across the South-East. I sincerely appreciate every executive and member who worked tirelessly to make this event a reality,” Okpebholo said.
“Your dedication gives us confidence that the mission of AGMC is gaining momentum across the country.”
He stressed that the inauguration should be seen not merely as a ceremonial exercise but as the beginning of a greater responsibility of mobilising citizens at the grassroots level.
Okpebholo urged the newly inaugurated executives to remain focused, united and committed as they work towards expanding the movement’s reach in preparation for the 2027 polls.
“The task before us is enormous, but together we can achieve it. Every ward, every community and every polling unit matters,” he stated.
“Our responsibility is to ensure that the message of hope, good governance and national development reaches every corner of Nigeria.”
According to him, genuine political transformation begins at the grassroots, where ordinary citizens possess the power to shape the future of their communities and the nation.
He therefore called on members to engage local communities, educate voters and promote the vision and programmes of the ADC among the electorate.
The AGMC leader further urged members to uphold the values of integrity, service, discipline and teamwork, noting that such virtues would be critical to building a formidable grassroots movement capable of delivering meaningful change.
He described the successful South-East inauguration as another significant milestone in AGMC’s nationwide expansion strategy, saying it underscored the increasing acceptance of the movement and its determination to strengthen grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
At the end of the event, members expressed renewed enthusiasm and pledged to intensify efforts to mobilise support for the ADC across the South-East region.
The inauguration concluded with an atmosphere of hope, unity and shared determination among participants to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s political development through active citizen participation and grassroots empowerment.
