The Taraba State Chairman of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar Hassan, on Thursday said his party offers the best alternative to the APC, PDP and other political parties in the 2027 general election.

Hassan stated this during an interaction with journalists in Jalingo, saying the party had, through a consensus process, selected credible candidates of proven integrity for various elective positions.
He said the party was confident that, if elected, its candidates would deliver the democratic dividends long desired by the people of Taraba State.
The party chairman criticised the APC-led government in Taraba, alleging that Governor Agbu Kefas and previous administrations had failed to meet the expectations of the people.
Hassan said the YPP’s desire is to build a new Taraba that guarantees development and prioritises youth empowerment and self-reliance.
“After many years of failed governance in Taraba, our party, the YPP, believes it is time to change the narrative and transform the state for greatness.
“We have assembled men and women of proven integrity who, if elected in 2027, will return Taraba to its days of greatness.
“Our desire is to build a Taraba that will restore hope, not just for young people but for all citizens. We hope to attract development through entrepreneurship and agricultural investment. A YPP government will establish a system where residents will truly feel the impact of democracy.
“We are people of like minds, committed to building peace among all ethnic groups and ensuring that citizens focus on the development of the state,” the party chairman said.
Hassan urged Tarabans to register in the ongoing Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, stressing that the Permanent Voter Card (PVC) remains the only instrument through which citizens can exercise their franchise and bring about the desired change in the state.
