Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, on Saturday expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Commissioner for Information, Hon. Ibrahim El-Hassan Kwami, who passed away after a brief illness.
In a statement issued by the Director-General of Press Affairs, Ismaila Uba Misilli, the governor described the late former commissioner as a dedicated public servant whose contributions to the development of Gombe State would remain unforgettable.
Governor Yahaya recalled the late Kwami’s service as Commissioner for Information, saying he demonstrated exceptional commitment, professionalism and a strong sense of responsibility in the discharge of his duties.
<span;>> “The late Ibrahim El-Hassan Kwami made significant contributions to the development of Gombe State during his tenure as Commissioner for Information. He served with exceptional commitment and a deep sense of responsibility,” the governor said.
The governor also paid tribute to the deceased’s distinguished career at the Federal Inland Revenue Service, now the Nigeria Revenue Service, where he rose to the rank of a senior officer and earned recognition as a financial expert and accomplished public servant.
<span;>> “His exemplary career in the Federal Inland Revenue Service was marked by professionalism, integrity and dedication. His wealth of experience benefited not only Gombe State but the nation as a whole,” Yahaya stated.
Describing the death as a great loss, the governor said the deceased’s passing would be deeply felt by his family, the Kwami community and the people of Gombe State.
<span;>> “The death of Hon. Ibrahim El-Hassan Kwami is a huge loss, not only to his family and the Kwami community but also to Gombe State and Nigeria at large,” he added.
Governor Yahaya extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, the management and staff of the Nigeria Revenue Service, the people of Kwami community, as well as his friends and associates.
He prayed to Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive the shortcomings of the late Ibrahim El-Hassan Kwami, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and give his family the strength to bear the loss.
