The father of the late Mary Habila, Tanko Habila, has demanded the immediate release of his daughter’s body for burial, insisting that the family does not want an autopsy conducted.
Tanko made the appeal on Friday while addressing journalists after submitting a petition at the Office of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) in Abuja over the circumstances surrounding his daughter’s death.
“I need the corpse of my daughter to take her for burial. I don’t want an autopsy. My daughter’s body should be released now,” he said.
Mary Habila reportedly died at the Abuja residence of the Minister of Works, David Umahi, an incident that has continued to generate public attention and calls for a thorough investigation.
The family’s latest demand comes amid ongoing police inquiries into the circumstances surrounding her death.
