The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Gombe State Command, on Friday graduated 58 private security guards drawn from nine licenced Private Guard Companies (PGCs) after a two-week capacity-building programme aimed at enhancing professionalism and security service delivery.

This was contained in a press statement issued by CSC Buhari Saad, stating that the training, which began on June 22 and ended on July 3, 2026, was held at the Federal Secretariat in Gombe as part of the command’s Second Quarter Capacity Building Programme for licensed private guard companies operating in the state.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, the Head of the Private Guard Companies Department, Deputy Commandant of Corps (DCC) Jimoh Otaru Isa, said the programme was designed to equip private security personnel with the skills and discipline required to complement the efforts of security agencies.

“This training is part of the Command’s continuous effort to ensure that all guards deployed in Gombe State are disciplined, knowledgeable, and fit for purpose. We expect a higher standard of conduct and professionalism from all graduands henceforth,” he said.

The participants underwent intensive theoretical and practical sessions covering physical fitness, parade drills, private guard regulations, beat management, intelligence gathering, incident report writing, surveillance techniques, professional conduct, and fire prevention. Personnel of the Federal Fire Service, Gombe State Command, also facilitated practical sessions on fire prevention and the use of fire extinguishers.

Declaring the training closed on behalf of the State Commandant, Commandant of Corps Jibrin Idris, Deputy Commandant of Corps (DCC) Suleiman Gana congratulated the graduands for successfully completing the programme and urged them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism.

“Remain loyal, disciplined, and law-abiding at all times. You are to be the eyes and ears of security agencies in your areas of deployment. Shun extortion, indiscipline, and any act capable of tarnishing the image of the Corps and your respective companies. Work closely with the NSCDC and other sister agencies to ensure Gombe State remains safe and secure,” he charged.

The ceremony was attended by senior officers of the command and representatives of the participating private guard companies. Certificates of participation were presented to the 58 graduands in recognition of their successful completion of the training.

The participating companies included Akoli Security Company, Spider Web Security Company, Pama Global Security Company, Nagari Security Company, Kombat Security Company, Edge Security Company, HNB Security Company, Zuhkuruf Security Company and Amazack Security Company.

The NSCDC Gombe State Command reaffirmed its commitment to regulating, monitoring and strengthening the capacity of licenced private guard companies as part of efforts to improve the state’s security architecture.
