The family of the ailing Taraba State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Aminu Alkali, on Wednesday disclosed that his health is gradually improving.

Mallam Ibrahim Alkali, the deputy governor’s eldest son, said that since November 2024, when his father fell ill, his condition had never been as encouraging as it is now.
“We give God in heaven the glory that our father is recovering greatly now. His condition has never been as encouraging as what we are seeing today,” the eldest son said.
The family also debunked speculations that Governor Agbu Kefas had abandoned the ailing deputy governor and his family.
“It’s not true. Governor Kefas has been with us since the day the deputy governor fell ill. He is the one paying all the bills and still taking care of our needs.
“The governor has not left us for an inch. He is always with us despite his busy schedule.
“On behalf of the entire family, I wish to sincerely appreciate the governor for the love and support he has demonstrated to his deputy and our family,” he said.
Ibrahim also called on individuals using his father’s illness to pursue political goals to desist, stressing that Governor Kefas’ compassion extends not only to his deputy but also to the entire family.
Meanwhile, the Permanent Secretary, Office of the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Usman Madu, disclosed that all entitlements due to the deputy governor are always paid promptly.
“Governor Kefas has been very responsible whenever a memo is raised concerning the deputy governor’s ill health,” he said.
