The Taraba State Government has, on Thursday, announced the commencement of another round of recruitment into the state civil service.
The Chairman of the Taraba State Civil Service Commission, Mr. Philip Kundila, disclosed during a press briefing that a total of 1,805 applicants would be recruited during the exercise.
According to the chairman, workers previously classified as ghost workers have also been absorbed into the state civil service.
Kundila explained that the recruitment followed Governor Agbu Kefas’ directive to employ more competent citizens into the state civil service after many years without recruitment.
He also stated that the newly absorbed workers, numbering 3,187, constitute the first phase of the employment exercise under Governor Agbu Kefas.
The chairman urged applicants to be wary of fraudsters who might approach them under the guise of offering assistance.
He warned that anyone found engaging in such acts would be punished in accordance with the law, stressing that the recruitment exercise is free of charge, except for the application form, which costs ₦3,000.
“Do not give money to anyone in the name of assisting you to secure employment. The recruitment is free.
“All applicants must follow the required procedures, and successful candidates will be shortlisted for interview. Only qualified candidates will be employed to ensure an efficient civil service in Taraba State,” the chairman said.
The commission’s chairman and the Permanent Secretary, Comrade David Nyan, thanked Governor Agbu Kefas for approving the recruitment exercise and providing funds for the renovation of the commission’s secretariat.
