From his early days as a classroom teacher, he ensured the younger generation was never left behind. As Principal of Government Science Secondary School, Kaltungo, he utilized his wisdom to broaden the school’s scope to accommodate Social Sciences and Arts subjects. He mobilized candidates from Shongom, Kaltungo, and even neighboring Billiri and Balanga LGAs for registration. Many of those students are today in tertiary institutions solely because of the results they obtained under his stewardship.

In that same school, he leveraged his connections for it to serve as a center for the National Teachers’ Institute during its Special Teachers’ Upgrading Programme. The program gave an opportunity to primary and secondary school teachers with no relevant certificates to obtain qualifications and advance their careers.

He is an astute community mobilizer whose influence was felt even during polling unit delineation and population census. He used his wisdom to ensure Shongom was adequately captured, giving the constituency significant numbers and polling units.

His commitment to human capital development is top-notch. It is on record that he paid law school fees for a struggling law graduate who was on the verge of dropping out. On hearing the news while in the community for the weekend, he asked that the young man be brought to him and he paid the fees. Today, that young man is an outstanding lawyer in practice. This is one of many constituents he has sponsored through law school and other levels of education.

As a member of the State Assembly from 2011 to 2019, he facilitated the establishment of the first boarding secondary school in Shongom LGA, situated in Lalaipido. The school has provided both academic and non-academic employment opportunities for constituents.

As a legislator, his yearly allocation for fertilizer always reached his constituents directly, reposing confidence in him as a trusted leader. His empowerment programs and kind gestures were felt by most. He made governance easy and is still admired by his people.

Even as an elected representative, he remained deeply rooted with his people. He rarely stayed more than two weeks outside his hometown, constantly shuttling between the capital for legislative duties and his constituency to attend to the needs of his people. To a large extent, he personally conveyed constituents to the capital to help them resolve administrative and other issues.

In 2015, he rose to become House Majority Leader, a position that empowered him to coordinate members efficiently and foster a harmonious working relationship with the Executive arm under then-Governor Dr. Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo. The Governor had so much trust in him that he delegated him to represent him at various national events. The role also widened his network, connecting him with colleagues across the country, some of whom are now serving governors in states like Delta and Ebonyi.

Within the Gombe PDP, Hon. Fabulous has been entrusted with key strategic responsibilities and has delivered with decorum. After the 2023 elections, he was appointed Secretary of the Reconciliation Committee, which successfully fostered unity among members. He also served as State Campaign Coordinator for then-presidential aspirant H.E. Nyesom Wike, now FCT Minister.

He is a loyal, participatory, and dedicated member of the party who has demonstrated uncommon commitment to the success and growth of the PDP.

With his grassroots appeal, legislative experience, administrative capacity, network, and proven loyalty, Hon. Amos Mela Boh “Teacher” Danmasanin Shongom brings the right balance of experience, connection to the people, and party strength needed to complement Prof. Isa Ali Pantami on the Gombe PDP ticket.
