The Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, has commended the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, for his medical intervention in Taraba State to mark his 58th birthday.
Prof. Pate described Yilwatda’s gesture as a divine act, noting that using his birthday celebration to address the health challenges of indigent Nigerians demonstrated a genuine commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable people.
“Choosing to intervene in the health challenges of the less privileged as a birthday celebration is divine,” the minister said.
Pate urged well-meaning Nigerians to emulate the APC chairman’s gesture, stressing that healthcare remained critical to human development and national growth.
“The health sector remains a critical foundation for national development. I urge other well-to-do Nigerians to emulate this gesture and impact more lives,” the minister said.
The minister also commended the Taraba State Government, members of the National Assembly and the people of the state for supporting and embracing the intervention.
Earlier, the Chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo, Dr Aisha Adamu Mohammed, said the choice of the hospital for the intervention reflected a growing commitment to medical excellence and service to humanity.
According to her, the intervention and commissioning of projects at the centre represented significant additions to ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery in Taraba State.
She said the initiative would further enhance the hospital’s capacity to provide quality healthcare services to residents of the state and surrounding communities.
