The Igbo Community Association (ICA), Jalingo Branch, has endorsed Governor Agbu Kefas as its preferred candidate for the 2027 governorship election in Taraba State.
In a letter dated July 3, 2026, and signed by its President-General, Deacon Michael C. Adili, the association said the decision followed a critical assessment of Governor Kefas’ achievements over the past three years and the steps taken to attract more development to the state.
The association commended the governor’s efforts in tackling insecurity and his commitment to ensuring a safer and more secure Taraba State.
Part of the letter read: “We wish to inform the general public that our decision to endorse Governor Agbu Kefas for a second term is not politically motivated. As a community, our unanimous decision came after a critical assessment of the governor’s achievements.
“We believe that re-electing Governor Kefas for a second term will not only accelerate the state’s development but also build a better future for the younger generation.”
The Igbo community also praised the administration’s free education policy, noting that it has significantly reduced the burden of school fees on parents across the state.
Meanwhile, the Director-General of the Agbu Kefas Re-election Campaign, Hon. Danladi Baido, thanked the Igbo community for what he described as choosing development over politics.
Baido, on behalf of the governor, assured the Igbo community of the administration’s continued commitment to fairness, inclusiveness, and equal recognition for all residents of Taraba State, irrespective of their ethnic or individual backgrounds.
