Nigerians, a few weeks ago I wrote “After Edo’s Asue-Obaseki Script, Is Osun About To Run Ademola-Adedeji?” And again, “Osun 2026: Is Adeleke The Target And Who Will They Use As The Victim?”
Some called me a prophet of doom. “Face your state,” they said. “Whom are you writing for?”
Today the answer is before us. The news is that “EFCC freezes Osun government account ten days to election.” Before that, the Presidency has confiscated local government accounts for over a year now.
This is not coincidence. It is choreography.
In Edo, it was last-minute pressure, federal agencies, and a narrative that the incumbent must be punished. Now in Osun, ten days to the polls, the state treasury is locked while LG funds have been held hostage for months. The aim is clear: suffocate governance, frustrate the people, and blame the victim.
Let us name it plainly. Nigerians, Tinubu is Abacha in agbada. Same template: use state institutions to bend elections, use economic strangulation to break opposition states, and use media surrogates to call it “anti-corruption.”
If this was about graft, why the timing? Why only now, when voters are about to decide? Why are LG allocations, meant for teachers, health centers, and rural roads, seized for a year?
Democracy cannot survive selective enforcement. You cannot campaign on “renewed hope” and govern with renewed fear.
To those who mocked the warning: this is who I was writing for. You.
Osun, watch closely. And Nigeria, resist the script.
