The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Jalingo Branch, has called on the Taraba State Government to sustain its efforts towards improving the judicial and legal sectors.

Dr. Daniel P. Saredau, Chairman of the Jalingo Branch, made the call on Thursday while felicitating with Governor Agbu Kefas, the government and people of the state on the occasion of Taraba’s 35th anniversary.

In a statement issued to journalists by the branch’s Publicity Secretary, Longs Lungnan, the NBA chairman described the judiciary as critical to meaningful progress and urged the state government to sustain ongoing efforts to improve the sector.

He commended the strides recorded by the Chief Judge and the Attorney-General of the State in improving the infrastructure and services of the judicial and legal sectors in Taraba.

“While we acknowledge and commend the improvements achieved, we must state that the ongoing efforts to improve the judicial and legal services must be holistic, sustainable, and ensure the welfare of our Judicial Officers, Members of the Lower Bench, and Law Officers,” Dr. Saredau said.

The NBA Jalingo Branch also pledged to continue promoting the rule of law, justice, democracy and the protection of citizens’ rights.

“While we congratulate the Government and People of Taraba on the 35th anniversary of the state’s creation on August 27, 1991, we wish to state that the NBA Jalingo will continue to promote the Rule of Law, Justice, Democracy, and the protection of Citizens’ Rights.

“We will continue to support and partner with the Government and People of Taraba State to build a peaceful, secure, and prosperous society.

“This milestone is a celebration of Taraba’s resilience, cultural diversity, agricultural potential, and peaceful coexistence. It also provides an opportunity to reflect on the progress made and the work that remains towards a more prosperous and united state.”
