“They said you should leave their daughters alone.
You should rather come for the mothers as they are ready to take you.”
This is not romance. This is decay.
When a society tells a man to bypass the daughters and go for the mothers, it has normalized desperation. It has turned marriage, respect, and family values upside down.
Our mothers are supposed to be custodians of culture. They are supposed to be the ones telling the daughters: “Wait. Be patient. Build character first.” But when the mothers themselves are “ready to take you,” who then will guard the gate?
This is what poverty does. This is what unemployment does. It breaks homes. It makes dignity negotiable.
A daughter watching her mother compete with her for a man learns one lesson: survival over self-respect. A son watching this learns: women are options, not partners.
We cannot build a nation where the mothers chase and the daughters are discarded. Where age is no longer wisdom, but hunger. Where “readiness” is measured by desperation, not values.
The problem is not the man being chased. The problem is the system that made mothers feel they must compete to be seen, to be fed, to be relevant.
Fix the economy. Restore dignity. Teach our boys responsibility and our girls worth.
Because when mothers leave their post, the whole house collapses.
