President of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Dr. Ike Neliaku, has stepped up efforts to secure international participation in the World Public Relations Forum 2026, with a strategic visit to Kenya ahead of the global event.
Neliaku, who arrived in Nairobi, paid a courtesy visit to Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Kenya, Ambassador Danlami Ibrahim, where he briefed the diplomatic mission on Nigeria’s preparations to host the forum on behalf of Africa from November 15 to 21, 2026.
The NIPR president also held talks with the President of the World Association of Press Councils, Chairperson of the East Africa Press Councils and Chief Executive Officer of the Media Council of Kenya, David Omwoyo Omwoyo, MBS.
Following the engagement, Omwoyo pledged the full participation of the Media Council of Kenya in the forum and promised to mobilise chairpersons and chief executive officers of press councils from selected countries for the November event.
The development is expected to boost the African and international representation at the forum while strengthening collaboration between public relations practitioners and media regulatory bodies.
Neliaku’s Nairobi engagements form part of broader efforts by the NIPR to position Nigeria’s hosting of WPRF 2026 as a major platform for global dialogue on the future of public relations, media and strategic communication.
The NIPR president was accompanied by Peter Mutie, a member of the Global Alliance Board, and Stanley Ogadigo, fnipr, Director of Public Relations, NIPR.
