The Kefas/Tinubu Support Network 2027 on Tuesday said grassroots mobilisation, with a focus on young people and women, would be its major priority to ensure the victory of Governor Agbu Kefas and President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
The co-convener of the group, Hon. David Ishaya Kassa, stated this during a visit by members of the network to the Director-General of the Kefas 2027 Campaign Council, Hon. Danladi Baido, in Jalingo.
Kassa explained that young people were critical to the political strength of any society, stressing that their energy, networks and participation must be deliberately organised for the political task ahead.
He disclosed that the network planned to build a credible structure across the 16 local government areas by engaging communities, promoting voter awareness, communicating the programmes and achievements of the Kefas and Tinubu administrations, and mobilising support in a peaceful and responsible manner.
“The Kefas/Tinubu Support Network 2027 was established with a clear purpose: to take the campaign to the grassroots and mobilise meaningful support for the re-election of His Excellency, Dr Agbu Kefas, as Governor of Taraba State; His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, as President; and all APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
“Our special focus is on young people and women. They are critical to the political strength of any society, and we believe their energy, networks and participation must be deliberately organised for the political task ahead.
“Our plan is to build a credible structure across the 16 local government areas, engaging communities, promoting voter awareness, communicating the programmes and achievements of our administrations, and mobilising support in a peaceful and responsible manner.
“Already, we have local government coordinators across the state who are driving this initiative in their communities,” the co-convener stated.
Kassa said the Kefas/Tinubu Support Network 2027 was not established to compete with any existing support group or political structure, but to complement the work of the campaign council and contribute to the collective effort.
“We are not here to compete with any existing support group or political structure. We are here to complement the work of the Campaign Council and add our own strength to the collective effort.
“We have come with an open mind and a willingness to work under the direction and framework of the Campaign Council and the APC.
“Our agenda here is simple: youthful energy, committed women, grassroots networks and a willingness to work. Where there is a need for mobilisation, we will mobilise. Where there is a need to engage communities, we will engage them. Where there is a need to communicate with our people, we will be there.
“We also understand that effective mobilisation is built on trust. We want to build a network that people can identify with, a network that keeps its word and one that conducts itself with discipline and respect for the leadership of the party and the Campaign Council,” he added.
While soliciting the campaign director-general’s guidance, support and confidence, Kassa expressed the group’s readiness to work with the Campaign Council and the APC ahead of the elections.
In his response, the Director-General of the campaign council for Governor Agbu Kefas, Rt. Hon. Danladi Baido, commended the group for the initiative and pledged to work with it towards the victory of Governor Kefas, President Tinubu and all APC candidates in the 2027 election.
“I have confidence in your group and I will support you. I am happy that two of the conveners, Hon. David Ishaya and Hon. Gara Nongha, are also part of the Campaign Council, so it makes it easy.
“You are automatically part of us, and anything we are doing, you will be part of it.
“I want to assure you of my support. I thank you for identifying with the Campaign Council, and we will work together,” Baido said.
The campaign director-general also commended Arc. Benjamin Danjuma Gani for donating campaign vehicles to the group, saying the gesture would not go unnoticed.
“We will write officially to appreciate him for his generous support to the campaign,” he said.
Baido tasked members of the support network with being active on social media in promoting the governor’s programmes and achievements at the grassroots, while warning them against abusing or attacking individuals.
He highlighted the achievements of the Kefas administration in education, security, health and agriculture, and urged residents of the state to support Kefas and Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
