On Wednesday October 14 2026, I was a panelist for the VCON OCTOBER 2026 Media Experience Sharing Webinar, themed, “Beyond the Headlines: Insights from VCON 2026” where I shared my knowledge and experience during the V-Convention.

Although most companies exist for business and profit maximization, one organization that has redefined these virtues to the global audience is
QNET. A global lifestyle and wellness company that uses a direct selling business model to promote unique products which enable people to take charge of their health, well-being, and lifestyle, its product categories include health and supplements, wellness and energy, home and living, watches and jewelry, personal care and beauty and education and technology.

I was among the few journalists from Africa who attended the September 2026 edition of QNET V-Convention with the theme, “Reform, Transform, Perform”, held between September 12 and 16 at the Setia SPICE Arena in Penang, Malaysia. The V-Convention, a gathering of global entrepreneurs, independent distributors, and business leaders from over 30 countries also marked the 28th anniversary of the organisation. The event served as a global launchpad for new wellness, lifestyle, and technology products. Amid the multi-sectoral achievements in Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal with 150 distributors in 17 countries, QNET has challenges, especially across West Africa. QNET is always ahead, thinking of new products that improve customers’ health, livelihood, and lifestyles. QNET has Quest International University (QIU) in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia, which was founded as an education venture by the QI Group (the parent company of QNET), offering Foundation, Diploma, Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD programs across six main Faculties: Medicine, Pharmacy, Business and Management, Education and Social Sciences, Integrated Life Sciences, Engineering and Computing.
Success, it is said, has many friends and even enemies. But the greatest enemies of QNET are scammers, and mischief makers, like the proverbial competitor cat giving a dog a bad name just to face judgement! Across Nigeria, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Coted ‘Ivoire and Cameroon, 54 arrests have been made through the efforts of security agencies and police complaints and prosecution supports. This is not the first time QNET is facing the activities of visa and job scammers and human traffickers who had bared their fangs during the Post-COVID era, misleading stranded victims who were desperate to go back to their destinations. There had been fake recruitment scam, fake training programs, and entrepreneurship jobs, all using QNET. The fraudsters also register companies fraudulently in the name of QNET. In Ghana, a petition was written to the Attorney-General to clarify the purported dissolution of QNET in Ghana. But the company maintained “That’s not ours. The illegitimate QNET has nothing to do with us.” The QNET management made some clarifications at Amari Spice on the issue. The venue of the briefing is a 453-room property opened in 2022 and premier 5-star business and leisure hotel located in Bayan Lepas, the heart of Penang’s Central Business District.
The Chief Executive Officer of QNET, Matthias Mildenborn believes that despite the challenges, the organisation is rebuilding its reputation and strengthening global confidence.
The Chief Communications Officer, QI Group Ramya Chandrasekaran; Head of Global Compliance, QNET, Theodocia Naana Quartey; QNET Regional GM, Central & West Africa, Cherif Sarr; Chief Marketing Officer, QNET, Elena Khoo and QI Group Chief Information Officer, Ben Bredenkamp also shed information on efforts being championed to address the anomaly including collaborating with religious organisations to draw public attention on the scammers.
As the public continue to fall prey, QNET says it has embarked on financial literacy in Nigeria with 1,462 beneficiaries in some cities while working towards expansion to over 50 more countries. Despite the challenges, QNET insists that it would continue to maintain its lead on a global scale within its line of business. QNET is rebuilding reputation, strengthening global confidence despite challenges. The company has promised to remain global market leader among competitors!
