A businessman, philanthropist and traditional title holder, Alhaji Ahmed Hassan, popularly known as Dujuman Pindiga, has declared his support for the governorship ambition of Dr Jamilu Gwamna, ahead of the 2027 election.
Hassan, who is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Northern Star Medicals Limited, made the declaration when he paid a solidarity visit to Gwamna at his residence in Abuja.
During the visit, the two discussed issues relating to the unity, development and political future of Gombe State.
Hassan said his decision to support Gwamna was based on what he described as the latter’s leadership qualities, track record and personal character.
“I have known Sardaunan Gombe for many years. He is humble to a fault, God-fearing, accessible, and deeply connected to the grassroots.
“His generosity cuts across all divides and his passion for the upliftment of youths, women and the less privileged is second to none. These are the qualities Gombe needs to sustain the good legacies of the present administration of Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya,” he said.
The businessman said Gwamna’s experience in the private and public sectors, as well as his network of contacts, would enable him to build on the achievements of the present administration.
Hassan also reaffirmed his support for Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, commending the governor’s administration for its interventions in healthcare, education, road infrastructure, industrialisation and human capital development.
“We remain loyal to our leader, His Excellency, Governor Inuwa Yahaya, CON, Danmajen Gombe. His developmental strides in Gombe State are visible even to the blind.
“Our support for Sardauna is to ensure continuity of these laudable projects and to ensure that Gombe does not go backwards,” he added.
Hassan further declared his allegiance to the All Progressives Congress and pledged support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Yahaya and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
He commended Tinubu’s administration for its economic and other reforms, saying the policies were beginning to produce results in areas including economic stabilisation and infrastructure development.
Responding, Gwamna thanked Hassan for the visit and the confidence reposed in him.
He described Hassan as a brother, committed party member and supporter of youth development in Gombe State.
Gwamna said that if given the opportunity to serve, he would run an inclusive and transparent administration focused on healthcare, education, agriculture, employment creation and unity.
He said his administration would be guided by the development vision of Governor Yahaya and President Tinubu.
