The Gombe State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Mohammed Usman, has called for stronger collaboration and intelligence sharing among security agencies to tackle crime and enhance public safety.

Usman made the call during familiarisation visits to the Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigeria Immigration Service and the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs in Gombe State.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the command’s Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Corps Buhari Saad, said the visits were aimed at strengthening relationships with sister security agencies and other stakeholders.
At the headquarters of the Nigerian Correctional Service in Gombe, the commandant was received by the Controller of Corrections, Felix Agada Audu.
Usman stressed the need for sustained synergy, intelligence sharing and inter-agency cooperation, describing them as essential to combating crime and criminality.
He said stronger partnerships among security agencies would improve their ability to address security challenges and protect residents.
Responding, Audu congratulated Usman on his posting and welcomed him to the state, commending the NSCDC for its contributions to the state’s security architecture.
He assured the commandant of the correctional service’s readiness to strengthen its working relationship with the corps.

He pledged the immigration service’s continued cooperation and mutual support to strengthen the relationship between the two organisations.
Similarly, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Adamu Dishi Kupto, received the commandant during a visit to the ministry.
Kupto commended the NSCDC for its contributions to maintaining peace, protecting critical national assets and infrastructure, and supporting security operations across the state.

According to him, the ministry would provide the necessary support and enabling environment for the agencies to operate effectively.
In his remarks, Usman expressed appreciation to the three officials for their warm reception and assurances of cooperation, reaffirming his commitment to strengthening inter-agency collaboration.
He said, “I deeply appreciate the warm reception accorded me by the Controller of Corrections, the Comptroller of Immigration and the Honourable Commissioner.
