More than 20 people have reportedly been killed in a night attack on Binnari community in Karim-Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The Taraba State Police Command has confirmed the incident.
However, the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Victor Mshelizah, said only 10 people were killed in the attack.
Meanwhile, local sources reported on Saturday that more than 20 people had lost their lives, while several others remained missing.
According to residents, the attackers invaded Binnari, located near the border between Karim-Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State and Plateau State, at about 2 am and began killing residents from house to house.
“They came and quietly killed people from house to house before they started shooting. They burnt down the entire community and killed over 20 people. Many are still missing in the bushes,” the residents said.
