Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has transferred the Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa Memorial Hospital in Kafanchan to the Federal Government. The hospital is to be upgraded to a Federal Medical Centre.

The Minister of State for Health, Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako, noted the Governor’s approval and facilitation of the transfer. He stated that Kaduna State is aligned with the Federal Government’s healthcare direction under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The Minister acknowledged the Governor’s request that existing hospital staff be protected and integrated into the federal service as federal workers. Stakeholders at the event described the upgrade as significant for residents of Kaduna State, especially in the Kaduna South Senatorial District.
