The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have pledged to strengthen intelligence sharing and operational collaboration to tackle economic and financial crimes and other criminal activities in Gombe State.

The commitment was made when the NSCDC State Commandant, Commandant Mohammad Inuwa Usman, mni, paid a familiarisation visit to the EFCC Gombe Zonal Directorate on Tuesday.
This was contained in a press statement signed by CSC Buhari Sa’ad, Public Relations Gombe NSCDC.
“The visit was aimed at strengthening the existing relationship between the two agencies and exploring areas of collaboration for improved security and service delivery,” the statement quoted Usman to have said.
The NSCDC boss identified intelligence and information sharing, joint operations and capacity building as critical areas requiring stronger cooperation among security and law enforcement agencies.
According to him, “inter-agency collaboration remains essential to winning the fight against economic and financial crimes and other forms of criminality confronting the country.”

Responding, the acting Zonal Director of the EFCC, ACE I A.S.M. Adache, welcomed the NSCDC delegation and described both agencies as partners committed to the common goal of combating crime.
“We are partners and will continue to partner,” Adache said.
He assured the NSCDC commandant of the commission’s readiness to collaborate with relevant security and law enforcement agencies, particularly through intelligence sharing and operational support.
“The EFCC is always ready and duty-bound to synergise with all relevant law enforcement and security agencies to fight crime through synergy, information, intelligence and operational support,” he said.
Adache urged the NSCDC to sustain professionalism, fairness and firmness in the discharge of its responsibilities.
The visit featured an interactive session and exchange of ideas on strategies to deepen cooperation between the two agencies.
