Education foundation donates Books worth N150million to Gombe State Government.
Governor Mohammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s quest to revamp the education sector in Gombe state has received a boost with a donation of Forty Two Thousand assorted text books for Primary and Secondary Schools worth over One Hundred and Fifty Million by Learn Africa Education Foundation in collaboration with Longman Publishers. This was contained in a release by the Senior Special assistant (media and publicity) to Gombe state governor Ismaila Uba Misilli, he noted that
The donation was facilitated by a renown educationist and former Provost of Isa Kaita College of Education, Katsina, Dr Kabir Ahmed.
Dr. Ahmed, who is the Chairman and Chief Executive of KHABICO Ltd said the gesture was in line with his strong belief in the significance of education in shaping the life status of the people for a better future.
While making the presentation through his stepson Alh Muhammad Ahmed, he described education as a catalyst for development especially now that the world has turned to a global village.
Receiving the textbooks on behalf of the state Government, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Kabir Usman Kukandaka, expressed appreciation for the kind gesture and assured of judicious distribution of the books even if it means resorting to the previous campaign strategy of Inuwa house to house distribution pattern.
Alhaji Kukandaka, however use the occasion to call on organizations and philanthropists to support government in meeting the numerous needs of the people.
