Another Boost for Education in Gombe, as Governor Inuwa Yahaya receives donation of Science Laboratory Complex
Another boost for Science and technology education in Gombe State as Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya formally received a Science Laboratory Complex donated to Government Science Secondary School, GSSS Kaltungo by a multinational oil conglomerates under the auspices of Agbami Partners. This was contained in a release made available to Justthinkingaloud90.blogspot.com by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, Mr Ismaila Uba Misilli, who noted that
“The Laboratory Complex consists of three labs for Physics, Chemistry and Biology with capacity for 30 students each.
“Governor Inuwa Yahaya, appreciates NNPC, Chevron, Petrobras, Famfa Oil, and Equinor oil who are parties to Agbami group that sponsored the project and
for supporting science education in the state.
“The Governor was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, who reechoed the present administration’s resolve to revitalize the education sector in the state.
“GSSS Kaltungo and most schools in the State are in a state of dilapidation and therefore need urgent intervention.
“Education is a key priority area for Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s government and that adequate attention will be given to fixing the rots in the sector.
“Thank you for this laudable corporate social responsibility effort, be rest assured of judicious utilisation of the edifice”.
The symbolic handing over took place in Abuja with Senators, House of Representatives Members, community leaders, Principal and students of the benefitting school in attendance.
There were remarks by the representatives of the Agbami Partners as well as goodwill messages from the legislators and leaders from the benefiting community who were unanimous in appreciating the gesture and commending Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s administration for its show of interest in education and other endeavours.
