Dr. Manassah Jatau, deputy governor of Gombe state, has urged Gombe youths to leave Tramadol and other exciting substance and focus on other positive ventures. The deputy governor, made this plea in a Sunday service, held at RCCG Gombe Province (Solution Parish).
He said “It is not easy to mentor youths. I can see the youth constitutes the majority of population here. The problems we met on ground needs a lot of interventions from the church and individuals. What am about to say is not pleasing but it is something I must say Gombe state is number (3) three in the abuse & consumption of drugs, and Gombe state is 34 in the performance of NECO and WASSEC, as the state is only better than Yobe and Jigawa states from the current ranking. The pastor can’t write the these examination again but the youths” he noted.
The pastor in charge of Province, Wayas Gabriel, who preached on “The wise seeks Jesus”, Luke 19: 1-9, where he drew inference from the life of Zaccheus, the wealthy tax collector.
Wayas, admonished members to seek wisdom as there can’t be divine leading without the fear of God. He also encouraged the congregation to embrace Salvation, because Salvation comes with the fear of God, freedom from loneliness, backwardness, Poverty, Sorrow.
