Gombe State Government has released the sum of N110 million to Gombe state Water Board to address water supply problem facing some communities. This was contained in a release made available to journalists by the Senior Special Assistant to the governor, media and publicity Mr Ismaila Uba Misilli, it states that the Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has directed the immediate commencement of pipe works to convey water from the upper zone reservoir to wuro Juli, Tabra and Nayinawa quarters and ensure adequate water distribution to the residents of the affected areas which is estimated to cost over 88 million Naira.
The Governor also directed the Taskforce on water supply to undertake water reticulation works in some areas of the Federal Low Cost quarters in Gombe, Government Girls Secondary School Doma and vicinity, Kanoyel and other communities along the water line which will cost over N21 million.
It will be recalled that Governor Yahaya, had set up a Taskforce on Water Supply under the chairmanship of Engineer Abubakar Bappah, as part of strategies to tackle water scarcity challenges and boost supply to the metropolis, its environs and other areas.
It is worthy of note that water supply within Gombe metropolis has improved .
