The Gombe state Controller of Prisons, CP Ahmadu Adamu, has charged the recently promoted officers in the command to Reciprocate the gesture by displaying a high sense of responsibility and dedication to duty in Reforming, Reintegrating inmates. Adamu, stated this today during a decoration ceremony held in Gombe state. He said
“I’m delighted to inform you all that the civil Defence, Fire , Immigration and Prisons services Board ( CDIFPB) in collaboration with the Nigerian prisons service (NPS) under the leadership of our amiable controller general Ja’farau Ahmed have magnanimously promoted 5,482 prison personnel nationwide . “Out of this number Gombe state command has 142 officers, 31 will be decorated today as a symbol for the rest to wear their rank all over the command. “To the celebrants I wish to use this occasion to remind all of you, that to whom much is given much is expected. “To those that are due but were not promoted count it as an act of God, because promotion comes from him and certainly yours will come at His appointed time remember the saying many were called but few are chosen” he added.
Northern City news spoke with a few officers that were recently decorated. According to CSP Dr. Joseph Anukwulu, a medical doctor by training told our correspondent that passion for humanity has been his major strength he said “I’m passionate about what I do. “Despite the challenges. “We that benefitted from this promotion are grateful to the controller general of Prisons and Gombe state controller for finding us worthy he stated.
SIP Lydia Dauda, the only female officer among the decorated officers could not hide her joy, she said “I’m very excited, I promise not to let down my superiors she noted.
DCP Abba.A Moro, one of newly promoted officers, thanked the controller of Prisons for the confidence reposed in him and his colleagues he promised to do more. He said ” We thank you all for coming to celebrate with us. “We are grateful and we wish you will also join us” he added.
Dignitaries include spouses of the recently promoted officers, University lecturer, representatives of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and Immigration.
