Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Inuwa Yahaya, has approved the appointment of Alh. Abdulkadir Bappah as the new Emir of Gona in Akko Local Government Area.
The appointment is in exercise of the powers conferred on the Governor under the creation of Emirates, Districts, villages and wards as well as appointment and deposition of Emirs and Chiefs and base on the recommendation of the kingmakers of the Emirate.
In a letter signed by the Permanent Secretary Ministry for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Manu Malala, the Governor congratulated the Emir and wished him success in his new assignment.

promised to work for the growth and development of Gona Emirate in particular and Gombe state in general.
“I want to thank Gombe state governor for providing level playing ground that led to my emergence as the Emir.
“I promise to justify the confidence reposed in me by carrying everyone along” he said
Born on the 16th of October 1981, the new Emir is a graduate of Business Administration and Management and was until his appointment a staff of Jaiz Bank Gombe branch.
