The Speaker of Gombe State Youth Parliament, Rt. Hon. Khalid Kumo, says alot can be achieved when youths are positioned for leadership.
Kumo stated this on friday, when he paid a courtesy visit to the Westminster Foundation for Democracy in Abuja.
He noted that if stakeholders deliver on the five thematic areas, it portends enormous advantages to Gombe Youths.
The speaker said the importance of capacity building program for members of the parliament and Young People in Gombe State can’t be overemphasized.
“Gombe Youth Agenda is a need for young people in Gombe State according to Youth Needs Survey, where by Gombe State Youth gives 66% priority to five thematic areas: Education, Health, Agriculture, Job Opportunities and Wealth Creation” he said.
Meanwhile the speaker was received by Mrs Sola Folayan, at the foundation’s office.
Folayan expressed optimism about the partnership of Westminster Foundation for Democracy and Gombe Youth Parliament.
“We will go through Gombe Youth Agenda and see the areas we can work together with Gombe State Youth Parliament”she said.
The visit is aimed at creating synergy between Gombe State Youth Parliament and Westminster Foundation for Democracy which is geared towards yielding developmental programs to young people of Gombe State.
