A member representing Balanga North in Gombe State House of Assembly Hon. Musa Buba, has revealed that five members including himself have tested positive to Coronavirus.
Buba who is also chief whip of the State Assembly disclosed this on Monday through a verifiable facebook account.
He said out of the 24 member house, 5 of have tested positive to the novel Coronavirus.
This result is sequel to a directive by Governor Inuwa Yahaya for government officials to go for test following the confirmation that a Director in Government House Shuaibu Danlami died of Coronavirus.
He Stated, “I’M COVID-19 POSITIVE.
“To the glory of God Almighty, result of our COVID 19 test is out. Out of the 24 Honourable members of the Gombe State House of Assembly, five of us are POSITIVE.”
While urging residents of the state against seeing covid-19 as a hoax, Buba added that regular practice of covid-19 safety protocol is the way out.
“I once again strongly advice that we should strictly adhere to the guide lines of health workers ( physical distancing, using of face mask, regular washing of hands especially with sanitizer, etc ) for our collective good.
“May Allah the most Merciful forgive our sins and grant us sound health. Amen. ‘Alhamdulillah ‘, Buba added”
However, the state Task force on covid-19 is yet to confirm this latest development as efforts made to get reaction of the chairman Professor Idris Mohammed have been unsuccessful.
Meanwhile the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 217 positive cases for Gombe.
