Dahiru stated this on Tuesday at the taskforce office,  while fielding answers on the preparation of the state on partial school opening in the State.

He said only classes mentioned in the partial school opening will be allowed to resume adding that relevant department in the Education ministry will ensure total compliance to the covid-19 safety measure.

Dahiru added that radio stations operating within the state will be used to reach students outside the recognized classes.

“Consultations have been made and experts have adviced especially from the NCDC that schools should be opened we are starting from class 6 those transiting into secondary school. So they have to take examination to qualify them into secondary school as well as those in junior secondary 3 who are expected to transit into senior secondary are expected to take their exam and those in senior secondary 3 to enable them take the final year examination.

“On coming to school they must observe those guidelines stipulated. We will fumigate the schools to ensure they are safe and we will ensure that teachers are enlightened on covid-19 so that any one presents signs and symptoms can be reported immediately.

“Since when the school opens it s only this set that are allowed, the remaining ones, will remain at home. To enjoy virtual learning, we have identified the radio stations that will be transmitting virtual classes for students and pupils. We deliberately considered radio because of the coverage, the television will found out may not cover the whole state and we will not be fair to other students in remote areas. Not only that, not all households that possess a television,” he said.

Thinking outside of the box in news gathering. Relating issues without bias, fundamentally a voice to the voiceless.
