The Operation Safe Corridor which is in charge of Deradicalization, Rehabilitation and Reintegration of repentant Boko Haram on Friday offered free medical assistance to host communities in Kwami LGA of Gombe State.
According to Dr. Chukwunonso Agahanya, a medical practitioner who was at the medical outreach said this initiative will help eliminate unforseen deaths.
While appreciating the Nigerian Army for sponsoring the free medical services called on indigenes of the area to take their health seriously.
He said, “We volunteered on our own to come and help operation safe corridor in this their Health outreach.
“One of our main challenge in the health care is people in remote area being able to assess tertiary institutions. So the best thing to do is to bring health care to the. This programme is an initiative of operation safe corridor to bring health care to villages around them.
“We volunteered on own own to come and help out because of the understanding we have with them. We see the patients, dispense drugs and those that are very sick we refer them to teaching hospital.
Agahanya added that patients should desist from assuming their health, urging them to embrace regular checks. “Today I saw three patients with Blood pressure of more than 200 they thought it was just headache, with this we were able to isolate those ones, to continue with regular medical help,” he stated.
