Gombe Police Command on Thursday paraded a 37 year old farmer identified as Ephraim Kadiri over the killing of a motorcycle operator in Gombe.
Parading the suspect at the state headquarters, the commissioner of police Shehu Maikudi, said he moved the motorcycle to where it was sold at N120, 000.
Maikudi added the deceased commercial motorcyclist was hacked down before he property was withdrawn from him, adding that it took combined efforts to sequel angry mobs from attacking a divisional station.
He said, “He was the one that almost caused mayhem for us yesterday (Wednesday) in Billiri after stealing and killing his victim (commercial motorcyclist). Restive youths in Billiri thought we were not doing enough they attempted to attack the police station. we had to deploy our men there, the Area commander had to speak to the youths as well as engage the stakeholders in town to calm the situation.
“Police men were later deployed to Cham where the the suspect was arrested in a hotel, but he had sold the motorcycle at Laraban lamurde.”
Also paraded was a 21 year old SS3 student with One hundred and seven (107) bunch of tramadol capsules and fifty nine (59) sachets of Exole and 400,000 bribe sum used to bribe the police.
Maikudi added that, “Babayo Yahaya was arrested based on credible intelligence. Upon interrogation suspect confessed to be a dealer illicit substance for over 2 years in Gombe and environs.”
