Gombe state Commissioner for health, Dr. Ahmed Gana on Wednesday said the state has lost 25 persons to the novel covid-19 pandemic.
Gana stated that out of 17703 samples collected 881 returned positive.
The commissioner revealed this at the handover of REDISSE starter packs to 114 primary healthcare centres across the 11 Local Government Areas of the state.
According to Gana, “As at today, we have been able to conduct screening on 17703 people out of which 881 tested positive and 747 were treated and discharged. We lost 25 patients.”
On his part, the deputy governor of Gombe state Dr. Manassah Jatau, stated that the motive of equipping the primary health centres across the state is a good step towards the containment of conavirus in the state.
He said, “let us not be deceived in the reduction of reported cases. I personally think we have entered the testing fatigue, we are not testing much.”
