The Secretary to the Gombe State Government Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi on Tuesday led a State Government Delegation at the instance of the State Governor to Biu Borno State for the funeral prayers of the Paramount ruler Mai Umar Mustapha.
The funeral prayers which took place at the late Mai’s Palace witnessed a large crowd of sympathisers from within and outside Borno State.
The late traditional ruler ascended the throne in June 1989 left behind 4 wives, 70 children and 208 grandchildren.
According to a press statement signed by the Information officer, office of the SSG Joshua Danmalam, The Secretary to the State Government Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi was accompanied on the delegation by Commissioners of Trade, Commerce and Industry Alhaji Nasiru Aliyu Mohammed, Rural Development Usman Jahun Biri and Principal Private Secretary, Usman Mamman Kamara.
Others are Special Advisers on Community relations Mohammed Auwal and Health Alhaji Dahiru Mohammed Kalla.
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya had earlier issued a Condolence message on behalf of the Government and People of Gombe State to Biu Emirates Council and the Government and people of Borno State.
