Gombe earmarks N2.8 Billion for construction in 3 LGAs
Gombe State government through Joint Project Development Agency (JPDA), awarded contract worth over N2.8 billion for the construction of roads in Nafada and Funakaye, as well the construction of a three span bridge in Dukku local government areas of the state.
While signing the contract agreement on Thursday, the Chief of Staff to governor Inuwa Yahaya, Abubakar Inuwa Kari revealed that it was the first phase of contract awarded by the state’s government through its Joint Project Development Agency.
He said the project includes; Kwanar Rugaji, Kochechiya, Jagabari, Betila Almakash, Kuka-bakwai roads with a spur Galgardu in Funakaye local government area of the state.
He also put the contract sum for the road construction at N2.8 billion with a completion period of 15 months to be handled by Hanan Construction Company.
“The second project is the construction of a three span bridge in Lambo Dashi on Dukku Wawa Biri and Wuro Bapparu road and awarded to EEC International Limited at the cost of N757 million with a completion period of 4 months.
“The sharing formula for these projects is going to be 60/40, the state government is going to fund 60 per cent while the local government will contribute 40 per cent,” Kari added.
The chief of staff stressed that award of contracts by the Inuwa Yahaya’s led administration through the State Joint Project Development Agency, is going to be a continuous process.
He said the present administration in the state, is poised to deliver the dividend of democracy to all the nooks and crannies of the state.
The Director General of the State Joint Project Development Agency, Engr Idris Mahdi said the doors of the Agency are open to all local government areas in the state to submit proposals in respect to projects they may wish to execute in their respective domain.
He assured that more projects will be awarded by Yahaya’s administration through the Agency, for the overall development of the State.
Speaking on behalf of the construction companies the Project Manager EEC International Limited, Dong Jian assured of timely and quantitative execution of the projects.
Representatives of EEC International Limited and Hanan Construction Company signed for their respective companies, while officials from Dukku and Funakaye local government areas signed on behalf of their local council areas.
