Gombe SSG tasks Kaltungo LG on improvement of IGR

Secretary to the Gombe State Government Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, has urged the newly elected Chairman and Council members of Kaltungo Local Government to work towards improving the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), of the local Government with a view to generating wealth and create opportunities for the Council.
Njodi gave this admonition in Kaltungo at the handing and taking over ceremony of the Local Government Council, where he also called on the revenue Officers to be fair and just in the the discharge of their duties.
He lamented that Kaltungo is one of the highly indebted Local Government in the state calling for a collective effort towards improving on the Local Council finances in order to provide services aimed at bettering the lives of the people at the grass root.
He said, “Kaltungo Local Government is the second most populous local government in the state. I therefore call on revenue Officers to buckle up and most importantly to fear God in the discharge of their duties.
“The chairman and Council members together with our collective support should work towards salvaging the council by improving the revenue drive for better and effective services Delivery.”
While congratulating the chairman and councillors of the council, the SSG advised them to work as a team and closely with all stake holders to enable them succeed.
On his part, An elated council chairman, Faruk Aliyu vowed to run an open door policy, Aliyu called for the support of all and sundry to enable the council succeed.
“This administration will not tolerate laziness and bike bitting amongst staff of the local government,” he added.
Also speaking, council secretary and overseer of the council Mohammed Dantata Ndus, appreciated all residents for the support given to him.
He called on all staff of the local government and other stakeholders to extend same to the newly elected Chairman.
Ndus appreciated governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, for the opportunity giving to him to serve.
Highlight of the event was the swearing-in of councillors by the Local Government Chairman Faruk Aliyu.
