Gombe Gov hails CAN’s commitment to Peace, says it’s not negotiable

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, has declared that the peace currently enjoyed by residents can not be jeopardized, adding that it is non negotiable.
Yahaya made this disclosure on Thursday, at the inauguration of phase one of Christian Association of Nigeria Gombe state chapter guest house at CAN Secretariat.

He said the Association has made far reaching contribution in the currently witnessed peace and stability in the state.
Recall that a part of the state specifically Billiri LGA, was engulfed in violence, leading to loss of lives and property following the delay in the announcement of Mai Tangle.

Yahaya, “I must acknowledge the roles played by our religions in the development of the society particularly for today’s function and all that had happened. I must acknowledge the contribution of the Christian Association of Nigeria for the peace, stability and development we have in Gombe state.
“Let me reiterate that this peace we have is not negotiable, we can not afford to throw it away no matter what Satan will do God will see us through and God will deliver all. Gombe state will continue to maintain and cherish this brotherhood that exists among the two faiths.”
Yahaya while commending the effort of the Association to development, the governor added that he was impressed with the acumen of CAN in managing scarce resources which had yielded the desired completion of the guest house.
Also, Care taker chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, Sunday Kongo, lauded the efforts of the government in supporting the branch in completing the first phase of the guest house while urging other individuals to support the project.
Kongo also reiterated the branch commitment towards the promotion of peace and progress in the state.
