Agitators of Nigeria’s separation, agents of doom – Gov Yahaya
Chima Azubuike, Gombe
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, has said those agitating for the separation of Nigeria are agents of doom, adding that they are most unpatriotic.

According to Yahaya, Nigeria will remain an indivisible nation despite the myriads of challenges, stressing that what is important is for stakeholders to choose to do things differently.
The governor made this disclosure on Wednesday, when he played host to the Presidential visitation panel led by Vice Chancellor of Federal University Kashere, Prof. Umar Pate at the Government House chamber.
He said, “Those calling for the disintegration of Nigeria, should have a rethink. They are agents of doom those calling for the disintegration of Nigeria.
“What we need in Nigeria is a rethink so that everybody will have fair share.
“I don’t support anybody calling for the breakup of Nigeria. The unity, peace and progress of Nigeria is not negotiable.”
Yahaya added, “Regional emancipation groups like IPOB, Oduduwa republic canvassers and the ‘Shege ka-fasa’ are not patriotic.”
Governor Yahaya also assured that Gombe State Government under his leadership would continue to support the University based on the fact that the institution does not only provide tertiary education to the people of the State but also employment to its citizens.
He said, “The presence of the Federal University of Kashere in Gombe has helped greatly in reducing the risk attached to distant travels in search of tertiary education and has ultimately provided less financial obligations on parents who will rather patronize the institution than send their children very far to acquire university education.”

Also, Vice Chancellor of Federal University Kashere Prof. Pate said nothing would make him support surreptitious calls for the disintegration of Nigeria.
The Communication don however cautioned against the danger of social media, stressing that it has brought alot of ills to the country.
He said, “It is a threat on its own for some elements to canvass the disemberment of the country.”
The Vice Chancellor, revealed that they were at the Government House to officially introduce the new management of the University and to intimate the Governor on the vision of the new team going forward.
He noted that efforts are on to develop the University and to consolidate on past achievements in the institution.
“As a young institution, the Federal University of Kashere is desirous of development where its certificate can be respected, research work noted and its scholars acknowledged any where in the world,” he said.
On his part, Chairman, Presidential Visitation Panel to the Federal University of Kashere, Dr. Mac John Nwobiala said the 6- man panel would appraise the performance of the institution in terms of leadership qualities of the Vice Chancellor, principal officers and governing councils with a view to ascertaining the extent to which they have fulfilled their mandate for public good during the period under review spanning ten years.
