Chima Azubuike, Gombe
Emir of Gombe; Alh. Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III, has urged both farmers and herders operating in the state to adopt the path of peace by sheathing their swords.

Abubakar made this charge on Thursday, in his address after receiving the homages from kingmakers and royal house holds during the climax of this year’s Eid-el- fitr celebration in the state.

He further advised the audiences to eschew conflict and uphold tolerance, while pointing out that alot would be lost if the clash persisted in the state or anywhere in the country.

He said, “The raining season is here and there is need for early planting. As you do there is need to emphasis on the perennial farmers, herders conflict.
“There is need for us not to take laws into our hands but respect each other differences. We must also pray for our leaders across every every divide. There is need for peaceful co-existence amongst every resident of Gombe state.”
Abubakar added, “No progress occurs when there is crisis, there won’t be any meaningful development in our state and the country at large.”
