Gombe NYSC urges batch A stream II on social media use for national unity

The State Coordinator NYSC Gombe, Mrs Ada Imoni, has tasked the 2021 Batch A Stream II Corps members deployed to State to use social media platforms for national unity and integration and not as a means to channel their grievances.

Mrs Imoni, made this disclosure on Thursday, while briefing the prospective porps members at NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp Amada,Gombe State.
According to her, the scheme has channels of communication corps members are expected to follow for complaints and for leave approvals, among other things.
She noted that the NYSC was established to promote National unity and integration, instill discipline in Corps members to enable them learn about the ideals of the scheme.

Imoni stressed that no Corps member is permitted to speak to the press for any reason, adding that violation of any of the above attracts penalties in accordance to the NYSC Act and Bye-laws.
Speaking further about the camp facilities, she implored the Corps members to make judicious use of them, bearing in mind that the camp is regimented devoid of the luxuries they are accustomed to their homes.
She also emphasized on the need to adhere to the Covid 19 safety measures as stipulated by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, calling on the Covid-19 Vanguard and compliance Committee to ensure compliance by all and sundry.
The State Coordinator, also took her time to give the general overview of the National Youth Service Corps, Cardinal programmes of the scheme, Rules and regulations guiding the Orientation Course, security, feeding, Skills Aquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme (SAED) and participation of Corps members in Camp Committees and the camp court among other things.
