ADHERE STRICTLY TO THE COVID-19 PREVENTIVE MEASURES, AS WE ADJUST TO THE NEW NORMAL- MRS ADA IMONI

The 2021 Batch A Stream II Corps members, deployed to Gombe State have been sensitised on the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19).
The Sensitization, which coincided with the the flag off the lecture series at NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp Amada,Gombe State was declared open by the State Coordinator Mrs Ada Imoni.

Mrs Imoni also called on the Covid-19 Compliance team and Covid-19 Vanguard inaugurated (made up of some principal Camp officials, twenty prospective Corps members and the state Coordinator as Chairman) to take their terms of reference seriously .
“You are expected to sensitise camp participants including camp market operators on preventive measures and encourage regular use of the Facemask, washing of hands under running water, use of alcohol based sanitizer and observing of social distancing at all times.
“It is your responsibility to ensure strict implementation of the measures put in place for containment of the dreaded virus,” Imoni said.
Dr. Lamingo John, the surveillance Officer Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on camp, took his time to go through the history of Covid-19, mode of transmission and preventive measures .
According to him, the virus started in Wuhan China in 2019 when a cluster of people started coming down with an infection later known as Corona Virus Disease 2019.
He revealed that in May 2021, the global statistics was 1.63 Millon and 3.39 Millon death while Gombe State had 165,852 confirmed cases with 156,456 patients treated and discharged and 40 deaths.
Corps members were also given practicals on the proper way of wearing facemask and other preventive measures by the Infection Prevention and Control Officer, Dr. Sadiq Mohammed .
