Njodi tasks Tangale students on cultural heritage

The Secretary to the Gombe State Government (SSG), Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, has urged Tangale Students to work towards preserving the cultural heritage and identity for a better future.
Njodi made the call in an address on Saturday, to mark the Tangale Day ( Pissi Tangle) organised by the Gombe State University branch of the National Union of Tangale Students (NUTS).
Represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political matters Dr. Mohammed Bello, informed the gathering that Tangale People are known for hardwork, resilience and commitment to peace which he said has stood them out over the centuries.

The SSG futher advised the Students to always take their education seriously to justify their parents and Governments huged spending.
Professor Njodi reiterated his earlier call on the Union Members to always seek, promote and advance the course of peace in all they do as well as being conscious of people with negative and deceitful attitude’s.
The president of the Union in Gombe State University Comrade Lefyamba Yahaya Babadidi, appreciated the support of the Secretary to the State Government Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, Barr. Rambi Ayala, Dr Danlami Arab Rukuje and host of others to the progress and achievements recorded by the Union in recent years.
Presenting a Paper titled Youth and vehicle for Political development, Dr. Danlami Rukuje observed that young people can only contribute meaningfully to nation if they acquire knowledge, have ambition, avoid drugs and alcohol as well as negative peer network.
He expressed concern that young people especially students tend to grab information gotten from either politicians or supposed elites in society without verification which sometimes could turn out to be false and with negative consequences.
Speaking on the history of Tangale, member representing Billiri East in the State House of Assembly, Rambi Ayala cautioned against proliferation of Tangale literature which he said if not checked could alter facts in history.
He challenged the students as undergraduate or post graduate to always research and obtain credible narrations and acceptable literatures in the Tangale history for posterity.
The occasion which was attended by illustrious Sons and Daughters of Tangale featured Tangale traditional displays and dance.
