Akko LG boss may sue Senator Goje, if ……

Hon. Abubakar Barambu, Chairman of Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State, has threatened to sue Senator representing Gombe Central, Danjuma Goje.
Barambu who claimed to be speaking for thousands of other constituents in the constituency said he would make do his threat if the Goje refuses to seek re-election to the red chamber.
He made this disclosure on Saturday, while addressing members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Akko Township Stadium, where party adherents urged the former governor to seek for another term in office.
Recall that the 68 years old Senator Goje, had on 8th December 2019, during an empowerment programme he organised for his constituents said he would not contest for election again.
However, Goje is said to be a formidable candidate for National chairman of APC, should the leadership be zoned to North East.
Barambu noted that the constituency had never been better represented in the past than in the past three legislative years.
The council boss said, “Even if you will not we urge you to; but if you don’t we may institute legal proceedings forcing you (Danjuma Goje) to contest for the Gombe Central Senatorial seat. You have provided developmental leadership in your tenure of office.”
Also speaking, Member representing Nafada/Dukku Federal constituency, Hon. Aishatu Dukku, further urged the senator to rethink his decision to quit politics, adding that his contributions are still required.
Dukku said, “We need him to still remain with us coach us. So, Senator Danjuma Goje will continue in 2023 inshallah, we will come from all over Gombe State to make sure senator Goje wins election in Gombe Central.
“Let me say, that he is one person that is so humane, he listens to his people, he supports his people that is the type of leadership that we want.
On his part, Bala Tinka, APC stalwart, in his address urged the lawmaker to continue rendering the excellent representation to the people of Gombe Central.
Tinka said he would mobilise a few concerned stakeholders in 2023 to purchase party nomination form for the lawmaker
