Gombe State Deputy Governor, Manassah Jatau, has harped the need for christians to be united in prayer and praise in the worship of God without minding denominational differences.
Jatau attended church service at ECWA Church, Tudunwada, Behind Gombe State University, Gombe, said whoever believes and professes Jesus Christ should be accepted as a christian, irrespective of his or her denominational differences.
The Deputy Governor said, “The unity of the church in prayers and praise is the panacea to the persecution facing the church and the other challenges bedevilling humanity today.
“Christians should pray for the world to come back to God, and shun acts of wickedness, so that God may have mercy over humanity and save the land from evil acts.”
The Deputy Governor welcomed the ECWA President to Gombe State and wished him well throughout his stay in the state, praying for his safe return to the ECWA Headquarters in Jos, Plateau State.
In his message, the ECWA International President, Rev. Dr. Stephen Baba, said failure to pray for those in authority as enshrined in the Holy Scripture is a sin, admonishing christians to always pray for those in leadership position for God to rule through them.
Delivering the sermon, the ECWA President, urged the congregation to put their hope in Jesus Christ and not on their wealth, education, influence etc, that can always fail them.
The Clergyman who spoke on the 2021 ECWA theme ” Christ in me the hope of glory” found in Colossians chapter 1 verse 24-27, reminded worshippers that there are so many reasons to make one lose hope to the point of suicide, but when one hopes in Christ, he has every reason to thrive to live a successful life towards securing eternity.

Also speaking, Gombe ECWA DCC Chairman, Rev. James Dangombe welcomed the ECWA President and the Deputy Governor, lauded them for their presence in the church which, he described as a great encouragement.
