GCSDZ to ensure befitting state secretariat, house of assembly, high court of justice complex, others

In its bit to have a suitable space for the construction befitting state Secretariat, House of Assembly, and High Court of Justice Complex among others, the government of Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has created Gombe Capital Special Development Zone (GCSDZ).

The Government’s decision was made known on Thursday, by the State Deputy Governor Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, during a press briefing in his office.
The Deputy Governor said the administration was worried that the state is witnessing tremendous growth in all direction and settlements springing up on daily basis but observed that planning was totally absent , as a result of which provision of essential social and infrastructural services by government to those areas becomes impossible.

He explained that the Gombe Capital Special Development Zone would be carved out of BAG 1048, GDP 12, 16,16A,16B,4, 4A,5, and DP65, BAP 4,and other Customary titles consisting of about 1,478.17 hectares of land covering.
Jatau said, “as a caring and concern government, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has approved a new Land Administration Policy that is aimed at infrastructural and socioeconomic development of the state.”
He noted that based on powers vested on him as enshrined in the Land Use Act 1978 all land titles at the location within Gombe metropolis have been revoked for overriding public interest .
According to him, the Zone is to be developed taking into consideration safety, conducive environ, necessary infrastructure, beauty etc, that would attract more people from far and near to the city of Gombe.
He instructed the Director-General, Gombe Geographical Information System (GOGIS), to give more details and technicalities to the understanding of the people.
Director General, GOGIS, Dr. Kabiru Hassan, explained that the decision of the government was taken in line with the administration’s resolve to transform Gombe into the state of our dream.
He said, “There is no place in the world where development could be achieved without infrastructural development, proper layouts and basic amenities.
“GCSDZ is to redesign the layouts for functionality, good access roads, connectivity, circulation, and basic infrastructure for development.

He allayed fears in the minds of the people of Gombe State while conducting this noble task as he solicited for their cooperation.
Hassan also appealed to the media to ensure adequate publicity on the exercise in order to achieve the main objective of the project.
